๐ New York
A special guest, Hua, writes their story of listening to this track, below. This track sparked a fun romp through the little things that make New York great.

I love this track because I am a transplant New Yorker. For the past year, I mostly stayed in my tiny apartment.
I'm lucky because I have a balcony. It took covid to make me realize I took many things about this fantastic city for granted.ย
For example, outdoor spaces and parks!ย
New York is known to be a concrete jungle, but there are many lovely parks. The most well-known one is central park. (in my humble opinion, the west side is a little quieter and more scenic than the east side).
My favorite park, however, is Flushing Meadows.
It's a spacious park with lots of grassy areas, trees, flowers, and a magnificent lake. There is also a nice skate park where people skateboard. A popular event that occurs during this time of the year is Night Market. It takes place from June to October during early evenings, where local food vendors come and sell food. You can find Malaysian, Thai, Chinese, Korean, and many different cuisines.
Also, cafes.
This track makes me miss going to cafes and the freedom of working from one. You can order a cup of coffee, be on your computer and work for a while. If you are tired, you can people watch. Because one thing New York City never seems to run out of is crazy, (Ahem, I mean, interesting) people. I miss being able to walk out of a subway station, go to a cafe, and get a cup of hot coffee.ย
Last, subways.
Before COVID, I complained about enormous rats in the stations and how delayed the subway trains were. But while I am staying at home, I miss taking the subway. (Not the rats. Those I will never miss.) I missed getting inside a cramped car. I missed those crazy subway pole dancers yelling:
SHOWTIME !!!
And somehow miraculously manage not to kick anyone in the face.ย
It's all these little things that made New York City great!
Things are slowly getting back to normal now. Businesses are starting to get back to their feet. Apartments are being rented again. Subways are reverting to a 24 hour schedule. Broadway will be back in September. Soon there will be a new mayor. He or she will probably be hated like the current mayor. We'll see!
