I mentioned bulletproof coffee already, but I recently refined my recipe and wanted to share it with you.
If you need a refresher, bulletproof coffee (or butter coffee) is basically coffee with fat—coconut oil, butter, or ghee are often used to make this beverage.
Now, the original bulletproof coffee includes 2 tbsp of coffee, 2 tbsp of unsalted grass-fed butter, and 1–2 tablespoons of medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil mixed in a blender. This is supposed to help you stay alert longer and increase your energy levels. Keep in mind that this recipe is quite controversial and it’s not recommended to make it a routine.
I haven’t tried the original recipe because I avoid milk, so no butter for me. However, I came up with my own version of the bulletproof coffee, the Coconut Latte.
To make a coconut latte, you’ll need Oatly’s Oat Milk (Barista Edition), coconut oil, and, well, coffee.
For two cups of coffee, add one tbsp of coconut oil. Shake your oat milk bottle hard to get a nice froth (aim for at least 10 seconds) and pour the milk over your coffee. Et voilà!
Coconut Latte may improve alertness and energy throughout the day, boost your immune system, and improve digestion. Again, it hasn’t been proven by science —but you might want to try it yourself.
