A coffee shop in Dallas: loud-ish music, man talking in the background… you can even smell the fresh cup of coffee your barista just made.
Ramblings
I mentioned last time my stay in a coliving. But what’s the difference between coliving and sharing an apartment with roommates?
The answer is surprising: rituals.
Gillian Morris wrote an interesting essay in SuperNuclear about coliving rituals, and why they bond you with your fellow colivers for life.
Currently reading — A crazy travel story that could have gone really bad (but unfortunately didn’t). The writer tells us about her (awful) experience staying at Chungking Mansions in Hong Kong.
“I just saw a cheap place to stay in what is an unfathomably expensive city and clicked ‘book now’. I know what you must be thinking, how stupid can one person be? And the answer is, impressively stupid.
[My friend told me] no matter how busy the queue is for the elevator, do not get the stairs inside Chungking Mansions.
I started reading articles saying that Indian and Nepalese prostitutes were held here against their will.
What had I gotten myself in to? And more importantly, what exactly was this place?!”
Make your own drink
Halloween is behind us, which means it’s officially Christmas season.
Well, I know it’s only Tuesday, but… how about mulled wine?
This recipe is refined-sugar-free (in my opinion mulled wine is better when it’s not too sweet).
Enjoy!
