Have you heard of the Ivy Lee Method? It’s a productivity technique that goes like this:
Write down 6 tasks you need to accomplish today. No more than 6!
Prioritize them from the most important to the least important.
First things first: complete the first task. Only when this one is completed, you can start the second one. Then the third one. On and on until you complete your to-do.
Enjoy the feeling of having done 6 things that really matter today.
Too easy to work? Give it a try. Trust me on this one.
Reading — I’m diving back into You, Recharged: How to Beat Fatigue (Mostly), Amp Up Your Energy (Usually), and Enjoy Life Again (Always), by Polly Campbell. I believe this book was meant for middle-aged people, but even as a 24-year-old, I found a ton of valuable insights to living a better, more energized life. I like to go back to it whenever I feel tired or need an extra motivation shot.
Doing — I’m applying the teachings of The Art of Persistence: Stop Quitting, Ignore Shiny Objects and Climb Your Way to Success, by Michal Stawicki. The main takeaway from this book is to pick a few tiny habits, repeat them every single day, and track your progress. Based on my current goals, I chose to implement 3 new habits: a 5-minute meditation, a 10-minute yoga session, and writing at least 3 sentences per day. Sticking to these habits is harder than it sounds…
